You might dismiss Marvel Rivals as an imitation of Overwatch, creator NetEase deserves credit for discovering innovative ways to appeal to its eager and dedicated audience. Introducing Lady Loki, a brand-new outfit for the current Strategist hero Loki, offering players a faithful to the comics version of the Norse trickster god(dess).
A Reskin of Loki, Not Hela
Contrary to earlier fan speculation, the previously teased Lady Loki costume is not a skin for Hela. Rather, it is a complete visual overhaul of Loki the character, complete with new voiceover work. Based on the reveal trailer, Lady Loki retains the full suite of Loki's signature abilities: his projectile attack, Deception, and Doppelgänger. The only change is her striking new look, designed to appeal to an audience eager to spend their Lattice.
A Look and Sound in Action
Below is a look at Lady Loki in action, along with a sample of her new voiceover, performed by voice actor Abby Trott. Notably Trott also voices Magik in Marvel Rivals.
Her dialogue and visual flair bring a fresh dynamic to the familiar kit.
A Gateway to Future Skins
Now that NetEase has opened the door with this gender-swapped skin for Loki, the Marvel Rivals community is busy considering future possibilities. Popular ideas now range from:
- Gwenpool as the upcoming Deadpool.
- Jane Foster as the God of Thunder.
- Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman.
The big question is: Will NetEase have the guts to deliver less mainstream alternate versions, such as one-time Ms. Marvel Sharon Ventura as She-Thing? That likely depend on player requests!
