{'I could have killed them' - Lawson faces dangerous incident with F1 marshals
Formula 1 competitor Liam Lawson revealed he barely escaped a potentially deadly collision during Sunday's F1 event in Mexico when two marshals darted across the track right in his path
The alarming incident occurred on the third circuit when marshals were observed on the track as Lawson was getting back on the race following an quick visit to the pits to replace his damaged front wing
Driver's Immediate Reaction
Shortly afterward, the team's competitor Lawson communicated to his race engineer saying: "Are you kidding me? Could you believe what happened? I could have... killed them"
"I genuinely couldn't process what I was witnessing"
"I exited on a brand new hard tyres, and then I got to Turn One and unexpectedly appeared two guys running across the track"
"I nearly hit one of them, truthfully, it was extremely hazardous"

"Subsequent to a first corner event, track officials was notified that wreckage remained on the track at the turning point of that curve" commented the regulatory authority
"On lap three, marshals were informed and put on alert to go onto the racing surface and clear the fragments once every vehicle had gone by"
"The moment it was realized that Lawson had pitted, the instructions to dispatch officials were rescinded and a safety warning flag was raised in that section"
