Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes text commentary for Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , following recent talk about two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.
Striking in those games were the amount of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, who play in London this Sunday.
But it proved positive to see how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory by four points.
Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.
They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.
Early on in the campaign, we said on a program how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well then excelled of building upon that.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and new running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
It's impressive that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
That shows how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in positive situations.
It's also helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw all over, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.
His strengths are his movement, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle or over the corner.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and can pass in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.
If you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the defence to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense must cover the area downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.
The quarterback has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB who's similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.
The head coach has won a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB helps shape him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through difficult moments and boost self-belief.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to hold their division. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.
They excel at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.
Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.
The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.
In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the division.
It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
