Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
